03/04 to 07/05 : TechMed-it, Columbus, Ohio Accepted a position to assist in the development of a new Applications Development area. Determined hardware, software, staffing and budget needs based upon the goals outlined in the business plan. Performed varied duties as the Software Architect, Project Manager, and Lead Developer on different projects determined by current needs and complexity of the client's requirements. Designed and developed online educational sites for the Ohio Nurses Foundation and the Ohio Department of Health. The sites provide Continuing Education Units to nurses successfully completing the courses and tests. The sites were developed in ASP, ASP.Net, VB.Net and SQL Server using AuthorizeNet as the transactional gateway. Used a wide variety of development tools but concentrated on VB.Net, MS SQL Server, ASP.Net, ASP, PHP, C#, MySQL, Visual Studio.Net, MindManager, and MS Visio.
03/02 - 03/04 : Compeer Partners, Dublin, Ohio Worked in the Applications Development department as a Lead Developer and Software Architect. Applications developed include the Comtact Control system. A system that allowed a major fast food chain to monitor electrical usage and control HVAC, lighting and security systems of 1500 company owned restaurants through an internet interface. The system was written in Visual Basic 6 and made use of 3rd party smart circuit libraries to pass data to a SQL Server database. The data was compiled and compared to produce exception reports displayed using ASP. Commands can be sent to the circuits in the restaurants to allow remote control of the lighting, electrical appliances, HVAC and temperature settings, and the security system. Another Application is the Athlete Zone website, developed for use by a local television station in its "Commit to be Fit" fitness campaign. Performed the application design and acted as the Lead Developer. The site was built using a template format developed with ASP.Net and with functionality coded into separate modules utilizing a combination of VB.Net and C# to allow for expansion and modification in the future. Tools used include MS Project, MS Visio, VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net, MS SQL Server with stored procedures, and 3rd party controls for dynamic PDF creation and graphical chart display.
08/99 - 03/02 : ecFactory/PB Technologies, Columbus, OH Lead a staff of technical consultants working on projects for such diverse clients as EDU.com, GE Financial Services, Motorola, and Calico Commerce. Migrated existing client applications from Visual Basic/VBA to VB.Net and internet applications from ASP/VBScript to ASP.Net/VB.Net. Produced a library of reusable user controls coded in VB.Net to improve client development times.
03/95 - 08/99 : Advanced Programming Resources, Inc., Dublin, OH Managed the internal development staff and maintained the data center. Designed and developed numerous software applications and dynamic web sites with ASP, PHP, Perl, Visual Basic, JAVA, MySQL, MS Access and MS SQL Server. Programmed one of the first CyberCash integration libraries used to automate online transaction processing. Was a contract consultant at Sophisticated Systems Incorporated, Sterling Software, the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, the Ohio Department of Health, the Board of Nursing and Huntington National Bank.
01/88 - 03/95 : Grange Mutual Insurance, Columbus, OH Supervisor of the Microcomputer Administration and Networking department. Became one of the first CNEs (Certified Novell Engineer), I designed, implemented and maintained all the networks in use by the company. Managed the technical staff to provide technical assistance to internal clients and to deal with outside vendors.
